A monument to the patron saint of the city, the Holy Prince Alexander Nevsky, is planned to be installed on Aleksandrova Mountain above Lake Pleshcheyev. This place is historically considered to be the starting point from which the pious prince began military campaigns.
The name of the holy prince became associated with a strong, united and indivisible state. And the prince himself became the image of the Russian national hero, in whom the love for the fatherland and the love for God are combined.
The sculptural composition depicts a prince dressed in Old Russian armor and solemnly seated on a war horse. The prince’s hand tightly gripped the sword with the prayer inscribed on it. This is a symbolic gesture, where the sword is both a military and spiritual weapon. The prince’s gesture as if transmits the inner energy of his most famous phrase: “Whoever comes to us with a sword will die of the sword!”
An observation deck with transparent glass parapets that do not interfere with the view is planned near the monument, from which a magnificent view of Lake Pleshcheyev will open. Several flights of stairs, made of terrace boards, lead to the monument. Stairways are duplicated by a gradual ascent leading around the hill.
