The work on the creation of the interiors of a compact apartment on the Quai Branly in Paris demanded non-standard solutions. When choosing a style, preference was given to the era of modernity. However, in the process of work one had to bear in mind that it was already the 21st century outside. The search for the synthesis of two epochs far apart in time and style led to experiments with modern materials.
The apartment was divided into zones, seamlessly flowing one into another. Given that the adjacent premises were at a minimum, private spaces remained separated from each other. The dining area had to be placed in the kitchen due to the lack of space. The drawing of the parquet, carved according to the designer’s sketch, unites this zone with the living room and at the same time emphasizes its independence.
With a ceiling height of just 2.60 meters large door portals visually increase the space. Wooden furniture for the apartment is made according to the designer’s sketches and is perfectly combined with the smooth lines of the interior.
The space turned out to be functional, corresponding to the lifestyle of the customers. “It’s impossible to work in this apartment – you can only live in it …”, the apartment owners admit.
