An important project objective was the preservation and reconstruction of the historical appearance of the architectural monument. The dendrological survey of the area was carried out within the framework of the project for the improvement of the monastery territory. The aim of the work was to assess the state of greenery and the viability of trees on the monastery territory of 15.81 hectares. Project documentation was developed in order to recreate the historical appearance of the New Jerusalem Monastery ensemble. Much attention was paid not only to the space inside the monastery complex, but also to the adjacent territory. The slope near the monastery was divided into sectors. Historical information was collected on each of them, and decisions on planting trees and locating improvement objects were made by an expert group consisting of historians and restorers.
