The sculptural image is dedicated to the Holy Royal Passion-bearers, Emperor Nicholas II with the August family. The monument is placed on a pedestal and is surrounded by a semi-rotund, comprised of 23 arches representing the number of Nicholas II reign years. The composition fits harmoniously into the historical architectural complex. While planning the sculptural composition, it was necessary to take into account the neighboring Church of St. John Chrysostom built in 1794. The construction principles and decorative elements of this historical monument were used in the pedestal design of the modern monument.
The lighting inside the arches became the special feature of this project: in the dark, 23 lamps light up around the sculptural image, highlighting the figures of the Royal Passion-bearers.
